Havering
Business & Education Partnership (HBEP) was established
in 1991.
The company organises education/business link activities for
Havering schools and colleges and also supports local business
development. HBEP organises and delivers a range of projects
and activities to support and enhance the curriculum, develop
key/core and personal skills, raise careers awareness, improve
student understanding of the world of work and inculcate a culture
of lifelong learning. This leads to a better understanding of
the needs of a highly skilled, flexible workforce and an appreciation
of a fundamental requirement to be employable.
HBEP delivers its activities to all age groups. For primary
schools, HBEP organises business support, both in the classroom
and on employers' premises. The activities are designed to support
curriculum cross-phase and cross-curricular activity to enhance
the opportunities available to pupils and students of all backgrounds
and abilities.
HBEP has a successful track record of delivering programmes
for numerous funders. We have run SRB 1, SRB3 and SRB 5 programmes,
ESF programmes, LSC programmes, LDA programmes and many others.
HBEP is supported by local and national companies representing
businesses large and small, public sector organisations and
community groups who provide substantial voluntary resource
and, in some cases, small financial contributions. Some companies
currently supporting activities across the whole age range include
Lloyds TSB, NatWest Bank, HSBC, Aon, Ford Motor Company, Outback
Steakhouse, Havering Chamber of Commerce & Industry and
a range of diverse local employers.
HBEP runs many different projects and we are constantly recruiting
volunteers for mentoring, e-mentoring, reading partners, number
partners and Work Related and Enterprise Activities.
